I just took the final for my differential equations class, pretty sure I’m going to end up with a c in the class. How will this affect me?
I know I don’t need to retake it because I didn’t fail, but how else could this affect me in college admissions/in college? Do I even need to send my grade when I’m applying, or do I only send it if I want credit at whatever college I end up going to?
You need to check the policies of the colleges to which you applied. Yes, it’s gonna hurt if you are applying to highly selective schools. Worse, it’s going to follow you after college for graduate and professional programs. If it can be changed to a pass grade, do it.
The UC’s do not allow you to update your grades unless you are asked for an augmented/supplemental review. A C will not hurt your admission decisions and you will just need to send in your final college and HS transcripts once you enroll in a school. As stated by @cptofthehouse, it will remain on your college transcripts for Graduate and Professional programs if you end up applying.
@Gumbymom@cptofthehouse I already decided that I’m not applying to grad school if I can help it so that doesn’t really matter to me. But yay for everything else!
If the private schools are asking for a Mid-year Senior transcript, then yes send it. If the schools are not asking for any additional documentation, then do not send until they ask for it.
Did you check your student portals for your “to-do” list?
My daughter only did DE classes for two years. When she applied to colleges she first gave her high school guidance counselor a signed/sealed copy of her college transcript even though they had access to it online. The official signed/sealed transcript was somehow put up on naviance along with the high school transcript.
For schools that don’t use naviance my daughter would have to order those separately and send directly to schools. She may have contacted each school to find out what they wanted.
After the first semester was finished she did the same thing since many schools wanted to see updated grades. One school even called to ask about her 1st quarter grades but a quick explanation that there were no quarterly grades was fine. By the end of the second semester since she was already signed up for a specific school she had an official transcript mailed directly to them. Even though the high school may have grades/classes listed she still needed to provide the official college transcript.
You can call/email admissions at all schools your applying to since it might vary from school to school. For my daughter’s state schools she still needed to provide updated official transcripts.
