Getting Bs in a super easy class...?

So I don't know what is wrong with me...
I'm in AP Stat, which is supposed to be a super easy class and I find everything we learn to be excruciatingly easy.
But when it comes down to the tests, I always feel like I get 100% correct and then I end up getting in the 80s or even the 70s due to a bunch of little mistakes that add up...
I don't get it. I should be getting an A. By the end of the semester I'll probably have a B+. My classmates that are just as smart as me are getting A's on tests. I don't get it. I mean, I often don't have enough time to finish my tests because they're so long, so that might be a problem.
Also after the first time I didn't do well I feel like it totally shattered my confidence in the class.
UGH. I'm applying to a few ivies and I'm afraid they will see my B+ in AP Stat and think ***.

Can you stay after school to finish tests?
Really, though, if you’re getting 70% on a lot of tests, it’s possible you don’t understand the material as well as you think you do. Forget about your friends’ grades, forget about the idea that it’s supposed to be extremely easy (it’s an AP class, so it’s not), lose the idea that one B is going to kill your chances at a college you want to go to, and ask the teacher for help and spend more time studying.

I can’t stay after school because I take Calculus after school in another nearby school. But you’re right.

I second halycon.
AP Stats can be surprisingly difficult, more so if you’re used to doing well in “harder” math classes. One thing that tripped me up pretty often was just reading the question correctly on tests…that might be part of the problem. Don’t rush it. And don’t get distracted thinking about how you did last time, what your friends are doing, whatever. Make sure you’re getting the big ideas and rules (sample size, error, random samples) down solid, because they’ll show up again and again.

Lmao. That’s what I thought when I took AP Gov’t. I don’t believe in any AP classes being “not easy”. I think it’s a psychology issue. You think the class is easy then you start doing less work for it. If you take too long on tests well that’s understandable. 4-5 of my math classmates and myself have to say a little longer after school to finish the finals (and the last one of the trimester, mind you). I got an A on the final and basically B’s for both grading period. However it wasn’t enough to make it A- :/

My point is don’t think it’s easy because not really any classes are truly easy (not even cooking). And don’t worry about the time unless it is a timed test then you really have to pace yourself.
