Getting in without fulfilling the testing requirement

I was going to apply to the engineering school at Tufts but I looked at the website and they want a science subject test and a math subject test in addition to the SAT. I took the SAT and the math II test, but I didn't realize I needed a science test until now.

What should I do? I felt like a fairly strong candidate, but now I'm not so sure...

If you don’t fulfill the requirements, you won’t get in.

You certain about that?

Really you should take the test, if you’re a strong applicant you never know, but requirements are requirements.

Requirements are required. That’s why they are called requirements and not suggestions.

Email/call admissions and ask if you can take the January series. Be honest as to the reason you don’t have it yet.

“Thanks for explaining this situation - it’s actually one that happens more than you might think. We will still consider you for admission and understand that the scheduling of your curriculum doesn’t work out with the testing. As long as we have the Math SAT2 and one other Subject test (any), your application will be complete. We will just focus more on your grades in science from junior and senior year instead. Feel free to type that same explanation you did below into the “Additional Information” section of the common app so that your application reader knows this too.” Well, I guess it is worth applying after all. Too bad I already submitted my common app to other colleges…
