Getting into CU Boulder

So im new around here and just wanted to know what I can do to better my chances of getting into CU Boulder. I know its not that good of a school and since i live in boulder it should be easier to get into right? also my brother goes there and so did my dad.

Currently im a sophmore and im starting to think of not taking weighted classes because it seems like regular A's are better than advanced B's

I go to a top 100 school in the nation and theres some pretty intelligent kids.

My first freshman semester i had all a's and b's and a weighted 4.0 unweighted 3.5

next semester i messed up real bad with family problems and got a 1.8...

this first sophomore semester it seems as though i will finish with 3.0

Im pretty smart and take some hard classes (PIB or Pre IB which is International Baccalaureate) but i have a bad work ethic(which i seem to be fixing i just hope its not too late!)

Also im VERY good at tests and so im planning on getting HIGH Sat and ACT grades(have simaler mind as my brother who had 31/2200

I play basketball for my school and do community service over the summer and i know my grades will get better but should i be working unbelievably to get a 4.0 or would 3.5 suffice?

Moreof what should i be doing so i can get into CU Boulder

3.5 suffices if you scored 31/2100 for real…
