I'm a rising senior hoping to get into UVA, and I think I'd like to go into finance. If I do get in, what can I do during my first two years in preparation for applying to McIntire? What kind of grades will I need? What kind of prereqs will I have to take? Is there an entrance exam or something?

Worry about getting into UVa first, but if you do…

This has all the info you need - [Undergraduate Admissions Overview](http://www.commerce.virginia.edu/admissions/undergraduate/Pages/index.aspx)

Thanks, I just wanted to get an idea of what I could work towards at UVA.

Anything related to business looks good, as long as you don’t just do it to to help you get in. Leadership experience is also a plus.

I was at a McIntire Orientation meeting and the main thing the dean stressed was getting good grades in all the prerequisite courses but also getting involved in things outside of business as they like well rounded students.

The acceptance rate for McIntire is around 60% if I remember correctly so it’s very doable.

As vincelance said, McIntire’s acceptance rate is 60-70% from what I have heard. If you really want to get in, do well in your classes and make sure you take the right pre-reqs. Get involved a little bit.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the advice. I might be getting a little ahead of myself since I haven’t even submitted my application, but I think its good to start shaping some sort of plan.
