I am a local texas resident and am in the top 5% of my class. I got around a 2060 on my SAT. I have been on the Varsity tennis team for 3 years now. I also have 100 volunteer hours and am in NHS, STUCO, BPA, DECA, an Independent Study Mentorship class and NTHS. I plan on getting a job soon. Could someone please tell me how UT goes through their application process? Also what are my chances of getting in to the business school or even the BHP program. Also, I’m Indian, can you tell me if ethnicity is a factor that I have to worry about?
Your chances are less than 50%. While you have decent SAT scores and a good class rank, McCombs is very competitive and your ECs don’t stand out. My cousin had almost identical numbers to yours and was rejected. I would suggest putting economics for your second choice major.
SAT needs to be higher and other test scores. 2200+ SAT, 33+ ACT, multiple 5s on APs. Other wise improve youre ECS. I had similar ECs, and a lower class rank (top 20% in a top 100 high school in US), I’m asian, and my test scores are ACT 35 and SAT 2290. Also an AP Scholar with Distinction. I got my acceptance letter today.
