Hi, so I so have recently become worried about whether or not I can get into UMass Amhersr based on my GPA. I take difficult courses and my weighted GPA is a 4.1, however my unweighted gpa is only a 3.3. I get mainly As and Bs, although I have had two 79s. I am a three season athlete and am in National Honor Society. I have not taken the SAT yet, as I am an incoming junior. Please help!
PS: I also rank in the top 20% of my class
You will get in without a trouble if you get at least a 1250 on your SAT. They LOVE to see you taking rigorous courses. Good luck!!
I have the same problem. Unweighted 3.3, weighted 4.0. This is my one of my top schools and I am so nervous about getting accepted…
A lot will depend on your major. I would say that the toughest to get into at UMass are Computer Science, Engineering, Business and Nursing.
My son applied to UMass Engineering a few years ago. He got accepted “Undecided” 3.3 gpa, 1380 SAT (720 Math, 660 CR). He is at UCONN.
My daughter applied to UMass Isenberg SOM 2 yrs ago for finance major. She got accepted into Isenberg and the Honors college. 3.7 uw, 4.1 w 1320 SAT (660CR + 660M), #12 out of about class of 225. She is at UMass.
