Getting Into Yale, Stanford, MIT, etc.

Hi my name is Cassy and I was wondering what my chances are of getting into Ivy League colleges such as Yale and Stanford. Here are some of my stats.
made 27 on ACT(28 superscore), ran varsity cross-country for 3 years and was MVP for 2 years in a row, ran varsity track for 4 years and awarded Most Outstanding, made it to International Science Fair in which science partner and I each won 1000 dollars from US Air Force(placed 2nd from Air Force), made it to Stockholm Junior Water Prize Competition held in Orlando, Florida this past June with my science project(all expense paid trip), in student council(senior representative), NHS, Beta Club(treasurer), Pride Club(secretary), Science Club, FBLA, and the French Club
I also have around a 3.833 GPA and am ranked about 19th out of 330 students. Many of the students ahead of me haven't taken all honors classes as I have each year though. I'm also an African-American female and my parents are originally from Nigeria.

I'm going to have to agree...

I'm sorry but the previous posts seem to assume that affirmative action can work miracles for anyone of color. which is simply not true. I too am an African-American female although my roots do not lie in Nigeria. Of course you have a chance and you should apply. But dont listen to the advice of the previous posts that suggest just because your black and from Nigeria you'll get in. So keep up the good work and good luck!

yeah i am in the same situation. I applied early to Stanford, i am AA and my parents are from nigeria. I have a better act score and gpa. I have solid ecs. but I was told by more than 10 people on this site that I'd be lucky to not get rejected in the first round. how does that make sense?

Thanks for all of your opinions. I am taking the ACT one more time in December as well as the SAT II subject tests. I can't seem to get my ACT score to rise significantly though. Does anyone have any tips for me? Any helpful tips for taking the SAT II chemistry, literature, and Math tests as well? I applied early decision to Yale already but I'm doing regular decision to Stanford, MIT, Rice, Brown, and Duke. What schools do ya'll think I can get into with the stats I already listed?

ur a strong applicant. it would not surprise me if you got into any of the schools on ur list.
