Getting Out of Housing

Does anyone know how to get out of fall/spring housing? is it too late? does anyone still need a room? It would have to be a girl and it's in Kellum...

In May or June you could have gotten someone off the waitlist to agree to your contract and you could have gotten released. By late July, most on the waitlist were told to look elsewhere. The only way now is if they can absolutely fill your slot.

Call housing as ask if they can replace you. Or if you find someone yourself who agrees to. They could have someone on a waitlist that wants a room no matter what that they could put in your room. But if they have assigned everyone and have no one waiting, you will have to find someone to sign and fulfill the contract or else you will have to.

But call, you never know…

thanks. I stopped by there and they said I would have to e-mail and have some kind of financial, medical, or disability reason…I’ll go back tomorrow though and see if anyone is on the wait list. I was originally on the waitlist then ended up with 9 roommates and as soon as I was looking at off campus they assigned me a new room…

What they told you is true, per the contract you signed, but the reality is, if housing is full and there is someone who will fill your slot, they might consider releasing you from the binding contract you signed.

I found a friend who needs housing so I’ll see what they’ll tell me tomorrow. thanks for the info :)
