Getting out of Housing Agreement

I already applied for Housing for FSU in the Fall, but now I'm thinking of living in an off campus dorm! Do you know if FSU allows you to get out of the agreement?

I’m pretty sure they cancel it only if you aren’t attending. You should call or check the housing website.

You’ll just have to call up housing and ask them what you can do. They may cancel it if you have a good reason and explain that to them.

The only guaranteed way is to not attend FSU, if you are an incoming freshman. You can still apply for them to terminate your contract, but they are under no obligation to do so.

I’m in the same boat as you. What I did is I emailed them and told them that my situation had changed and that I didn’t want to live on campus. They replied that they added me to “The List.” It is a list of student that want to terminate their housing contract. People that have medical conditions are given priority and then is the rest. It’s not guaranteed that you will get out but there is a really big chance because the amount of people that apply usually exceeds the amount of available housing.
