Getting rejected after accepted?

Anyone know how bad your average has to be to get rejected after being accepted? I am talking about the midterm averages that the school sends out. Can anyone speak from experience or knows anyone who has had experienced this?

As and Bs are fine. Cs are bearable, but not too many of them. Ds and Fs will most likely get your acceptance revoked.

Thanks for your response. I don’t really know what my grades convert to on a letter scale since my school grades us on a 100 GPA scale. Would you think 85+ in each class would be fine? Or 90+ to be safe/guaranteed to not get rejected?

70+ would even probably be fine…cornell isn’t actively looking to lose a lot of the people it accepts, so it will be lenient

i’ve wondered the same thing lol. i’ve never gotten a B before this year, but well this year, i have 3 Bs lool…

@Feral24 Thanks! That’s really good to hear. Hope I don’t get rejected.

@Wuchu lol I’m glad someone is in the same situation as I am. Hope to see you there next fall!

I was wondering this exact thing…I ended junior year with a 95+ average, but that average has gone down this year. Not to mention…cornell’s ED decision was being released during my exam period so I probably failed all my exams as a result of anxiously waiting and procrastinating on CC…what if I dropped to 85 from a 95? A ten percent gap is pretty big even though 85 is a decent average. I’ve been told that apparently as long as your grades are decent and you dont get into trouble you’re fine! Can anyone confirm?

I was wondering the same exact thing guys…
So if I cut some classes (as long as I don’t get suspended or anything) would they care?
lol…

Just continuing what you have been doing for the past three years and everything will be fine. That’s what got you into the place in the first place. Why risk it?

i have been piling out soo much this year. for all of grades 9, 10, and half of 11, i was like such a good student. then second semester junior year, i started doing hw in class/ during lunch. and well this year, i literally do like no hw at home. do it all during like my other classes and stuff, and when i do it its like faked. i’m still taking relatively hard courses though, i mean, ap calc bc, ap physics b, ap eng lit, ap gov/econ, so i have 3 Bs. eek.

at cornellhopeful, that’s very true. it’s weird, i didn’t go into senior year saying, i’m going to be the biggest pile ever, but that’s kind of what’s happening.
