i need a gift for my girlfriend but im short on money. any ideas for a nice, cool gift that is reasonable in price

Do some cooking. (Since this is Christmas, one might stick to desert; the person will probably have enough nutritious food). If you can't cook, you can probably learn fast. (Also, don't skimp on the work.)

bake cookies. for reasons i can't explain girls love baking.

^because baked goods are awesome.

^Can't disagree I guess...

make her a CD of her favorite songs. better yet, if you are a singer, record yourself singing her favorite songs and make a CD of it (I'm only half kidding)

take her out to dinner?
/camera?
/digital photo frame?
/mini laptop?
/cellphone?

I like the CD idea. It's dirt cheap, but at least it shows you know her!

^Ost... he said he is short on money. Those gifts are rather extravagant.

Stuff that is <$20...
-buy a book by her favorite author
-buy a dvd u know she'll like.. and maybe even watch it with her with some snacks
-buy a cd that you know she'll like, and listen to it with her
-Buy an assortment of goodies (chocolate, candy, etc) that are her favorite
*Make something... this is the cheapest gift and sometimes the best gift.

Just a note... You really should give your girlfriend something tangible that she can touch and remember you by. Cookies are good, but should complement your main gift, instead of being the only gift.

i thought short on money meant under 400 bucks.
