I heard they're really hot. I also heard that the guys don't compare.

Score?

Score, indeed.

In terms of hotness, both males and females score a 98.6 (F of course). Due to recent activities, this number is likely even higher. However due to the rampart alcohol consumption, I’m sure the mean hotness averages out.

As a transfer who has been to multiple schools, the average Vandy girl is slightly better looking than the average girl at some of my other schools. BUT Vandy girls lack diversity, so if you’re into girls that aren’t white, you’re kinda screwed. I seriously can’t recall the last time I saw a cute Indian girl.

How likely is it that the average Vandy male is 6’6"? Or that the majority of students are left-handed? Hmmm . . . you’re right - the normal curve doesn’t work that way. And all Vandy females drop-dead gorgeous? Nope - the normal curve doesn’t work that way either.

The majority of the female student population at Vandy is fairly similar in appearance to the majority of the 18-24 year-old national female population (which I grant you, is awfully darned impressive). A smaller percentage is more attractive, a smaller percentage is less so. All may be dressed a little better and made up a little better than the national population, and they won’t be covered up in down parkas from November through March as their counterparts will up north. But in a population of around 10,000, the normal distribution of genetic features is pretty much what it is anywhere.

gadad, I’m speaking as a student who currently goes to Vandy. As a transfer, I have at least some frame of reference to compare the girls between schools and in my opinion, the girls at Vandy are, on-average, better looking than the girls at UT Arlington, UT Austin and the CC I went to. I mean the difference isn’t night and day, but the average girl at Vandy is a little bit thinner and a little bit better put-together.

As a girl at Vandy I can say this is absolutely true. The girls here are very pretty (lots of pressure haha) and the guys just aren’t quite at the same level unfortunately :(

Now that could definitely be the case since those factors are subject to influence from the campus culture and not solely dependent upon good genetic fortune.

1 place for trophy wives

Being here as a freshman this year, it feels like there just are more attractive people here. That’s just how it is. The girls, while genetically blessed, take care of themselves (for the most part) and are well-groomed and well-dressed. The guys… less so, but a lot of them are good-looking and well-maintained.

Vanderbilt girls come to Vanderbilt because it fits their culture. Gadad is right; it’s not that there’s some sort of genetic lottery that gets us in, but the girls at Vanderbilt know that it is an image-conscious school, and yeah, we spend a lot of time in the gym and eat a lot of salads. I don’t feel like brand names are a big deal here, though, as long as you at least put some effort into looking presentable in the morning.

Reading the post above from macaroni reminded me of this tongue in cheek article from yesterday’s edition of The Hustler. I bet there has been more than just a little effort put into looking presentable today! Glad for all the freshman girls participating in fall rounds that the weather is so nice.
