I don't want to sound shallow, but I've heard that Vanderbilt has some hot girls and I think this could contribute partially to my decision to attend Vandy--lol. Is this true about (most) Vandy girls? If so, why are attractive chicks driven to Vandy?

As a father of one of your potential classmates who is a hottie and former model, they are smart and intelligent. You might work for one someday.

Ouch... this was meant to be light-hearted... What's wrong with wanting to go to a good school with attractive people? I don't see anything wrong with it.

Will anyone vouch for me that this is at least semi-important?

Oh...and silversparkles18, thanks for your post!

You probably received several hundred brochures and viewbooks from various colleges. Take a look - wouldn't you say that attractive people are featured on every page? I can't believe that great-looking women, or men, congregate to one university over another. Yes, many Vandy women are well turned out - I think more because they perceive attractiveness as a component of success, both professional and social, than because Vandy is some kind of "hotness" magnet.

If you want attractive women, you'll find them at Vandy - but you'll also find them at Cornell and Pitt and SUNY Binghamton and wherever. Young people tend to be attractive (nature at work).

The girls at Vanderbilt are very attractive and intelligent. Not to sound shallow, but I visited Cornell and the girls there aren't particuarly good-looking. People always complain on CollegeConfidential when this topic is brought up, but it is a factor that shouldn't be overlooked. I have several friends at Carnegie Mellon who were unhappy with their experience due to the quality of girls. You shouldn't chose a school solely on girls, but there is nothing wrong with it being one of many social factors.

In all of the stuff I have heard about vandy, and especially from watching a video about it, I can conclude that the girls are hot. very hot. but, that's just what I've gathered

I just visited and can say that they had the hottest girls I've seen so far at any college, and I've seen quite a few. For the most part they were also very nice, talkative and helpful.

Hahahah I love the post saying Cornell girls are attractive.

We're talking an average. Vanderbilt, while changing, has a lot of Southern girls that go (t)here, and I know a lot of people that apply to Vandy now don't look at other SEC schools but instead the depressing Northerns schools so they may not know this, but the SEC has by far the best looking girls in the country.

Meaning right off the bat at least half the class usually is great looking and has been brought up to present themselves well all the time (i.e. none of that pajama to class crap), and the others soon follow.

Hmmm. I would say this is a telling statement (indicating your lack of understanding of intelligent females). The other girls who are followers will follow. There are plenty of girls who are not followers, who will continue to be "turned out" however they wish to turn themselves out. In other words, there ARE girls at Vandy who will dress, act, and be whatever THEY want to be ... i.e., they won't feel a need to try to be like the "cool girls." High school is over, guys.

kelsmom, we're talking about Vandy Girls, not the other girls that go to Vanderbilt. Sorry for the confusion. They don't feel that need and they also don't feel that need to go to fraternity parties so nobody complains.

I think this whole thread is hilarious. I feel a mixture of interest and a "wow this is still our society."

But ya I don't know how accurate this is because I don't understand how better looking girls could naturally accumulate in the south and ugly girls in the north.

Also, California (the state) is supposed to be the fashion capital and have a ton of hot girls, yet UC Berkley is (in?)famous for its ugly girls for some reason.

This is interesting, although kind of demeaning to women.

lol, it is just a forum discussion, nothing wrong with his question, oh and yes the girls there are very attractive, and also very smart, intellegent, and down to earth from when I visited
