Girl's State

I feel like this is a good place to ask. Do any previous Girl's Staters have any good advice to those attending this summer? I think it would be a great experience (and a college app boost!) if I got voted Governor. What's effective as far as campaigning goes?

Bumpity bump! Anyone?

Hmmmm. bump again :)

I went to boys state so I guess I can offer some valuable advice. If you are planning on running for governor immediately begin campaigning as soon as you get to Girl’s State. Also, within your city you should try composing some sort of coalition of people who would like to help you run for governor. These people can help you gain support through campaigning and can act as your staff when you need to accomplish certain things. I was a senator at Boy 's State but the governor was in my city do I watched and helped him through the processes that were required for him to win.

That’s sound advice. Thanks so much!

You’re welcome!
