What do you guys think? (noticed I ask for guys' opinions, not girls') I think they are hideous and even the smallest tattoo is a deal-breaker for me.

not a big fan of them

I love them. Girls with tattoos are the hottest. Most important is that they have meaning and aren’t anything dumb. Not saying I want a girl with like 2 full sleeves and more, but a decent bit is okay.

It’s not that big of a deal to me, but I prefer girls without tattoos.

I love girls with tattoos, but only if they’re inconspicuous and tasteful. In my experience, it means that they care about their future while still being great in the sack.

Oh and TomServo, how can it be a “dealbreaker” for you? Didn’t you post in another thread that you’re 27 and have never kissed a girl? I feel like for something to be called a “dealbreaker,” one has to be in the position of making deals in the first place lol.

^^^ Well maybe he won’t even consider being friends with a girl if they have a tattoo. He never said anything about romantic involvement. Unless you’ve misattributed those characteristics entirely…

I’m with you OP. Even the littlest tattoo will annoy me.

^^When one uses the words “girl” and “dealbreaker” in the same post, there isn’t much debate as to whether he connotes a romantic or platonic “deal.” Could he have been talking about all those tattooed girls’ friendships he rejects? Sure, of course. Unfortunately, I don’t have my Oxford English Dictionary on hand so we’ll have to settle for the next best thing:

[Urban Dictionary: deal breaker](Urban Dictionary: Dealbreaker)

4 of the 5 useable definitions reference only romantic/sexual deals. Does this prove anything? Nothing except that it’s safe to operate under the assumption that most people use the term dealbreaker in a romantic sense. Hope this helped.

Now I’m not going to f***ing debate semantics with you because God knows you argue on CollegeConfidential like it’s your day-job.

^^^^
Well perhaps he has started dating girls then. I suppose we will find out; I was merely offering another perspective since you decided to criticize the OP.

Also, I have no idea why you decided to get so defensive and write an unnecessarily long response post in an angry tone. Do you have some problem with me? Yes, I argue on CC/offer my perspectives; I scarcely see any reason to post otherwise. I would be agreeable to being monetarily compensated for doing so, if I could.

Usually its unattractive, but if it is tasteful and can be covered when appropriate, it can be mildly attractive.

Tats are hot when tasteful.

My sister has full sleeves [they’re very pretty and look classy on her], so I’m really used to them. I generally prefer them hidden or easy to hide when dressed up. The biggest turn-off for me is seeing a girl who doesn’t take care of her tattoos, like when they lose color and seem as though they belong on a 60 year old. The other turn-off is offensive tattoos.

I agree with the op as well… if it was a girl I wanted to have an actual relationship with then I would have to decline… especially it she had a tramp stamp.

I have a small (think about 1.5 square inch) tattoo on my hip of a heart made out of a treble clef and bass clef. It means a lot to me in a multitude of ways and it is small, hidden and tasteful. I have yet to have a guy run for the door because of this.

Well, you evident’y haven’t met the op yet.

I have one on my back shoulder (a little bigger than Lauren’s). And yes it actually has a ton of meaning. Also, it’s easy to cover up- it only shows if I’m wearing a strapless dress. And even then my hair can even cover it.

Just like Lauren, I have yet to meet a single guy would say it’s a “dealbreaker.” Besides- if a guy had that big of an issue with tattoos, he’s not the kind of person I’d want to date anyway. My mother has 2 herself, and my sister has 3 (all are easy to cover up, and don’t show during work).

Although I can’t imagine why any girl in her right mind would get a ‘tramp stamp’ …

^ Yeah, tattoos on the back and stuff that are easy to cover up are HOT. On the arms and face though…definetley not attractive.

Tattoos can be hot provided they are done right - which seems increasingly rare.

I just saw some smokin’ asian girl with a tattoo across her back. Definitely made her seem a lot more dangerous/ living on the edge. She was also in a band, so that probably helped.

A lot the ‘cartoony’ type tattoos or something poorly/ hastily drawn seem just plain awful.

Tramp stamps are plain embarrassing.

I’m seen some bigger girls just smother themselves in random tattoos - ie their lower back, their arm, their foot. For chrissake, why don’t you just doodle on yourself with a marker? That’s what it looks like, except permanent, and it’s not sexy unless you are already sexy to begin with and they are done professional by someone who knows art.

Some people love getting them spontaneously and like getting them to seem less “white bread” than they already are - but eh. Unless its meaningful, and the tattoo is 1000% awesome and makes you look like a sexy badass (that’s really the only point honestly) - I wouldn’t get one.

They are hardly unique anymore - it seems almost 50% of girls have one - a ton more girls than guys, at least.

I’m just saying, no one ever cared about having a hot naked girl in their bed whose flawless skin didn’t have any tattoos.

For that matter, if a girl has revealed a bad tattoo (and one girl I was seeing has) - it’s not going to be a deal-breaker, if the rest of her is up to scratch. We all make mistakes. I’m probably not going to tell her I dislike it or would prefer she didn’t have it either - she obviously can’t change it now.

I’m a firm believer that if you’re going to get a tattoo, you have to want it for at least a full year before you go and get it (I had wanted mine for two years when I got mine).
I don’t understand spur-of-the-moment tattoos, but then to each his own.

This, exactly.
I have two (very small tattoos–less than an 0.5" x 1") and if someone is judging or writing me off solely of that–then he can kick rocks.

I want more though. But I like all black tattoos. I don’t know why, but I really dislike colored ones.

I’m trying to coax my
mother into paying for me to get some more small ones this summer since I’m broke at the moment.

I really like Jonna(sp)'s tattoos and peircings from the Real World…I think she was on the Brooklyn season.
And Angelina Jolie has gorgeous tattoos.

For me, it’s extremely
important they mean something to me and represent a significant event of my life.
But to each her own.
