Yep another thread about BME. Gettin very competitive...

Now i was just wondering in terms of Biomedical Engineering, are these schools all good respectable schools?

I do know that John Hopkins is #1 in the nation and Duke and GIT (GA Institute of Tech) are close behind...i consider myself an exceptional student, but if i cant get into JHU or Duke, is GIT still a good option? I do want to go to a nice school for the reputation.

Don’t worry about it, at all, for about two years. Do well in your classes, do extracurricular activities that interest you, and see where you’re at and what you want when you’re in your Junior year. It’s really too early to start thinking about college.

GT is an especially good school to go to for biomedical, and I’ll tell you why. Emory University, a nationally renowned private university with an exceptional medical program does a dual degree program with GT students who are interested in engineering in the medical field. You get amazing teaching from the engineering aspect of it from GT, and amazing education likewise in the field of medicine from Emory. All in all, it’s a very good situation to be in, I would say.

Ah, didn’t read that you were a high school freshman. If you want to get into GT, all you really have to do is maintain a high GPA, 3.9 I would say is a good cutoff for a for-sure candidate. Then get a good score on SAT/ACT, and you’re really kind of set. Unless you are out of state, then things will get to be more competitive, but I can’t say more competitive than Duke, not sure of John Hopkins.

GIT is now the 4th leading Engineering school in the country and is recognized internationally. The Biomedical Engineering program there is one of the best in the nation and the college was found in 1885.

Btw ur really helpful, ive seen u post on a lot of threads. Honestly u give the truth straight and forward, theres no point in getting peoples hopes up.
