<p>well for the UC’s grades and tests scores are the most important factors for admissions. great essays will always help but will not win the battle for you. and applying as an english major does not make it more challenging if i am not mistaken</p>

<p>Yes, they are because on the UC site UCSD’s Average Freshman GPA was 4.07. It’s impossible to get higher than a 4.0 for unweighted GPAs</p>
