so basically i have a quad right now and they are only putting one person in each quad room…my classes are all hybrid (online with optional in person attendance), and i need to decide before the 30th whether to keep the room or give it up. if i keep it, i’ll be more likely to have the quad and a roommate i know next semester, but i lose 4000 dollars cause i may not even stay there. if i give it up, i could get a bad room next semester with a random roommate. so i was wondering if the dorm life and flexibility it provides is worth keeping the room during covid or should i give it up?
If you decided to study online at home, you should give up the dorm to save $4000. You may not be able to go back to the campus in spring if there is a second wave of virus. If you are able to go back to the campus in spring, live whatever the dorm and roommate assigned to you. It will teach you how to handle the things you may not like.
