Sigh...I feel awful because my quarter grades were terrible. 2 A's and 4 B's!!

Of course I'm not going to, but I feel like just giving up right now. I'm always so busy and kinda stressed. I wish I could just for a day have a nice break. But those grades really have to improve for me. It's embarrassing. How do I improve my grades?? I'm having a difficult time with time managemnt and maybe I'm not studying very well

You improve your grades by making sure you fully understand everything you learn, and always understanding the logical foundations behind every new "rule." Reading the textbooks usually helps with this. (A lot of teachers think you're too stupid to understand why things really work, so they just tell you to do steps 1, 2, and 3 without telling you what they actually mean. My favorite was my precalc teacher's "Big Bottom" rule for asymptotes. Or they just tell you how to solve a particular type of problem, and then if the problems change slightly, you're completely out of luck. So really, you have to read the textbook to understand concepts.)

Oh, and if something seems confusing or you get the wrong answer to a problem, make sure you understand both the canonical "right answer" and the reason your solution didn't work. (You should have had a plausible justification for your wrong answer too.)

When you understand all the concepts, getting A's in your courses becomes trivial. (Unless your teacher assigns an unreasonable amount of busywork.)

Oh, wow fizix2, you hit the bullseye with the "they just tell you to do steps 1, 2, and 3 without telling you what they actually mean." My precalc teacher does that exact same thing, I have to look at the examples in the book after class. =

I take advanced english, ap euro, honors chemistry, scripture, spanish level 2, and honors alg2/trig.

I have also take summer courses and i always received A's in each course. I just never seem to be able to do my internship, volunteer, girl scouts, etc, while earning decent grades...Last year I had a 3.3 and a 3.6. Ughh, I'm shooting for Northwestern.
