GMAT and When To Take?

Hello, I am in my sophomore year and will be applying for an accelerated program for an MBA in 5 years, and you get a bachelors in a science as well. I have the GPA needed to get into this program, but I need to take the GMAT and score a 550. How hard is this? I will most likely get a review book before hand, But I need to take this soon(yes, soon!) to get into this program as per my school's admissions page for this program.

I am a good student and a hard worker and willing to put the time and effort in, and I did great in high school except my SATs weren't particularly great. 1600/2400 Scale.

I took plenty of AP and advanced courses and did great, just the SAT wasn't my thing and now I am really worried that I am taking this GMAT early and that it will be just like the SAT and I won't be able to do well.

When do most people take the GMAT? I have to take early because this is an accelerated program.

Also, To anyone who has taken it, is it similar to the SAT?

GMAT scores are good for 5 years so you can take it today and it won’t expire until 2017. GMAT is somewhat similar to the SAT but it is a bit more difficult. Best way to get a feel is to take a free exam online or do a few sample questions

Thanks! Is 550 Anything ridiculous or is that manageable?

550 is a fairly average score. It shouldn’t be difficult if you give yourself a couple of months to study and prepare.

550 is a fairly average score. 1-month preparation is enough! Good Luck!
