@sumobats It was on another sheet in the envelope. You and me both got jipped buddy. I suspect they don’t throw away money on applicants who seem overqualified.

@sumobats You’re right, but I’d be paying ~15k a year if I went to GMU, and at that point, Tech and UVA (if the admissions gods allow) are looking pretty dang good. I was kind of banking on a good scholarship. Oh well.

@bassguitar ahhh, okay, I didn’t know you were living on campus and that makes a huge difference price wise.

@machovich only letter here so far

Accepted Computer Science
In State
GPA 3.8
ACT 33
All honors and 9 AP courses
NO scholarship money… aughhh

@univin2015 Another highly-qualified, no-scholarship anomaly.

For that question that asked what schools were you applying to, did you answer it truthfully and list a bunch of selective schools? If you did, they might think it wasn’t worth throwing money at an applicant who probably wouldn’t attend. I did, and I think that’s why I didn’t get much as I thought. I know I shouldn’t complain, but…

I got my letter on Friday! I’m kind of disappointed I didn’t get any scholarship money (probably due to my low ACT & SAT scores) but GMU was my first choice so I’m super excited!

-applied for Honors and Presidential Scholarship, if we received a scholarship with the acceptance does that mean we’re not being considered for the Presidential Scholarship?
George Mason looks nice but as a Pre-nursing (not nursing) major and considering Mason’s OOS tuition around 30K/yr (after scholarship), I most likely won’t attend since I just got accepted to SUNY Bing and am still waiting to hear back from my top 3 schools, so hopefully I’ll open a slot for someone on the waiting list Congrats to those admitted and best of luck to those still waiting to hear back!!!

No scholarship money but I it’s my #1! Just waiting to hear from other schools.

@BCnursinghopeful I was looking at past threads and it seemed that yes, if you got a merit aid award with your decision, you would not get the presidential scholarship (called University Scholars Program). However, it’s hard to tell since not a lot of GMU people post on here.

I live about 30 minutes away from GMU (in state applicant) and applied early action, and i still haven’t received a letter from the school. Are they all supposed to be mailed out by now, or are they still in the process?

Accepted

Major: Industrial Engineering
Out of State
ACT: 33
GPA: 3.99 (UW), 4.36 (W)
Rank: Top 10%
AP: 9 total
Average extracurriculars (part time job, a few clubs, more community service)

Merit Scholarship: 40k (10k per year)

It seems like they are giving out more money to OOS kids because the tuition gap is huge. But considering what GMU costs for OOS, 10k a year is not much at all.

Where did you see that @sumobats ?

@azbeth I went to earlier threads on CC and it seemed as if the university scholars recipients had not received merit aid before. But then again, like I said it’s hard to tell because so few people post in the GMU forums.
