GMU to McIntire (UVA) 3rd year transfer chances

Hello everyone,

I am currently a GMU sophomore looking to transfer to the McIntire Program @ UVA for my junior year. My stats are:

· GPA: 3.95, econ major

· Extracurricular: Investment Club (I have more, but this is only one where I might be an officer).

· Work: Part time intern at a reputable financial firm. Other part time jobs.

· Courses taken: Intro/ intermediate econ courses (A+ in almost all), Calculus 1&2, Accounting, and a bunch of gen-eds.

· High school stats: GPA was around 3.6, 2090 SAT.

Applied to UVA in HS and was wait listed. Am a VA resident, and have met most of the McIntire prereqs. I write one helluv'an essay.

What are my chances of acceptance? Any additional advice?

Thanks very much guys.

I think they’re pretty good. Your GPA is very strong and you weren’t too weak out of high school. Also you have internships at a reputable financial firm. The only issue might be your lack of more related clubs but I doubt that will cost you. I think you should be able to get it.

So I kinda put the transfer thing in the back of my mind until break… Does anyone have any additional advice? Anyone else applying to McIntire out of GMU/VCCS for the Fall? Good luck if you are!
