Does any one know how many students are accepted into Medical schools from GMU as undergraduate?
Talk to the premed advisor at GMU. FYI, your admission to med school is dependent on your performance not the school you go to. You have to take ownership of developing a strong application for med school.
Seconding both thoughts above. Ask GMU where previous med school applicants have been accepted and know this info only means that if you have similar applications to what they had you have similar chances to be accepted.
I’ve seen students get into MD med school from the smallest “previously heard it can’t happen” not totally credited Christian college all the way up to tippy top schools most folks feel are a “sure thing,” but definitely aren’t. Which category you fall into will be up to your application. Folks don’t get acceptances from both places too.
Still, by checking with GMU itself they’ll be able to tell you if they have certain agreements with various med schools that could help you out if you’re one of their top students, and in general, what stats it takes for their applicants to be successful.
No matter what, always have a Plan B (what you would do instead of med school) because even 11-13% (if I recall correctly) of tippy top GPA/MCAT applicants don’t get accepted anywhere. It happens. It’s less stressful when there’s a Plan B you’re happy with.
