I am a New York State resident and recently have been admitted to some In-State schools - University at Buffalo and Albany. I have also been admitted to an out-of-state school, ASU, with a fairly good financial aid package, making the difference in costs between staying in-state and out-of-state not too different.

In making my decision as to which school to attend, it comes down to either:
attending ASU which has a nice apartment complex with room-mate matching very close to the campus. But, I wouldn't have a car.

If I attend in-state, I would most likely be living off campus (maybe 5 minutes away?) with a random person. So I'm just concerned it could be hard living off campus when it comes to meeting people and stuff.

What do you think the best choice would be? Stay in state, and have a car - which could be useful for finding a part time job, etc? Or go out of state, which is a little more $, but have a housing location which seems much better for meeting people, etc

Also, I'd be majoring in business and both schools have top programs for that.

Which one feels like a better fit? Have you visited ASU?
You mention a lot about transportation and getting to know people, but what about the universities themselves? You say that they are both top business schools, but what is the environment like at each of them? What types of unique opportunities would you have at either school? Also, how do you feel about being that far from home? Remember, if you to ASU there will be additional transportation costs and it will be harder to get home if something comes up.

I don’t have an answer - that is only something you can decide based on your priorities, interests, and goals. Just trying to get you to think of some more questions that cold help you figure it out. And relax - you still have plenty of time to make this decision.

Why would you have to live off campus if you stayed in-state. Is there no on campus housing where you could meet people at the in-state schools?
