I know a lot of folks on this board are Int Studies or Public Affairs oriented, but my daughter just saw the current Dept of Performing Arts production of the Sondheim musical “Company” and said it made her proud to be student! It was a fun night out and she one of floor mates in a totally new light. It runs through next weekend.

I have to second this.

I went, admittedly, for a class. I did theater all through high school, with state of the art equipment that made me a bit of a theater snob when it comes to high school and college productions. I was less than thrilled about having to go, and make a point to stay away from some of the productions because of my extensive theater background.

That being said – IT WAS AMAZING. I went on opening night, and the cast was talented – to the point I was disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm on the Broadway and revival soundtracks when I went to purchase them afterward. It’s only $10 with an AU ID and definitely worth every penny.

We live commuting distance to NYC and have taken our kids to shows since they were old enough to sit quietly and understand the show. My daughter has done student rush and discount tkts throughout HS so she also draws from a lot of experience when she sees as show. So when she gushed, I knew it was worth seeing.

It’s good to hear your comments about the quality of the production. My daughter is auditioning for the Musical theatre program at AU this weekend.

She should try to see the show if she will be in town. I believe it is still running. If the link on the DPA website shows sold out, she should ask the program director if there are any tickets available. Sometimes seeing the shows while you in the application process can help with decision time!
