My D just finished her Freshman yr. of HS and has the MT bug big time. It started with a two word appearance in Sound of Music last year and has blossomed from there. Recently she was Laurie in Oklahoma. Vocally strong, still learning all about acting.

She was just convinced that Tisch was the only place for her. I just wanted her to know that there were other (and maybe more realistic) routes to eventually get to NYC. Our first of these visits was to OCU.

Our reason for going was twofold. 1. To see the culmination of the Summer MT program. 2. To explore OCU for degree purposes.

The Summer Program was great. To put on a show of that magnitude (Urinetown) in only 2 weeks was nothing short of amazing. And the talent on stage was a real eye opener for our entire family. I felt the whole thing may have been just a tad “overacted” for my tastes, but I’m not really very familiar with MT.

Our access to people in the know on the Fourth of July weekend was amazing. We met with Rachel in admissions on Thursday. She was very through and informative. And what a beautiful setting.

On Friday we were very pleasantly surprised to have a 9am meeting with Dr. David Herendeen. He was fantastic and couldn’t have been more giving with his time and advice. He shared his opinions on what he believed to be other great Universities and also asked my wide eyed D some questions she wasn’t quite prepared to answer (lol)

Overall a great experience. Now my daughter loves OCU. We plan to visit others too.
