Best CRNAs I’ve worked with were either ICU nurses for years. The best one I am thinking about was an icu nurse for almost 20 years. The others have been out of the University of Kansas program (whatever program is out of KC). But other then new grads, no one ever ask where a CRNA trained. There is a SE program that was notoriously AWFUL in their training! But one of their grads took a job paying $280,000 1099 per year. Yes, no typo. So training and education had nothing to do with pay. And like I said, his training was awful! Also NEVER interchange nurse anesthesiologist with nurse anesthetist; those are fighting words among anesthesiologists.

Goal is Nurse Anesthesiologist!!! What are my chances to get into this prestigious Nursing Schools??

@frugaldoctor thanks for your opinion. Anyone else want to give me input on my chances of reaching my desired colleges?

Btw, you are a match for 1, 5 and a reach for 2-4. You need a hood ACT score 32+ to match at your prestigious choices.

@frugaldoctor Thanks for your input. Many others have also told me to take the ACT. I might end up taking it in the coming months.

University of Pennsylvania-Mid/High Reach

John Hopkins University-High Reach

Duke University-Low Reach

All your other colleges you are a match for. Your diversity and volunteer hours are really good, but you don’t have any exceptional honors (state championships, science competitions, etc). Your committment and diversity in school is exceptional, but it needs the honors to have any real kick.

Ok @veritas

Is English your second language (which would make the lower scores in reading understandable…). Agree you should take the ACT.

@cmgrayson Well I have never been placed in any ESL class but I learned the two languages simultaneously at home. I have done my whole education in USA.

Those ECs are amazing. Especially with the Mock Trial and Model UN, I would also say you would do very well in a law program. I don’t think you’ll have any problems.

@Dzheims I want to be a Nurse Anesthetist. What are my chances of getting accepted into those colleges.

I’m not too familiar with nursing, but my only tip would be get your GPA and percentile up! It’s best to be in top 5%. Everything else looks awesome though (good test scores, extracurriculars, etc.). You’ll definitely have time since it’s only junior year

@ocfla Ok, I know I can bring up the GPA but it will be hard to get it in the top 5%. Nonetheless, ill try

You are not weak in any area by a long shot, I was just wondering out loud about the relatively low reading score (in comparison to the rest of your scores). You are an excellent candidate. You would likely kill the ACT. :)

@cmgrayson My reading score was a 650, math was 800, writing was 710. Ok thanks for your opinion.

Your chances are obviously high. Not certain about John Hopkins. Duke and Penn bit I think and hope that you can get in! Looks like you match the others.

@thanks for your input Elijui7.
