<p>Good question. Mostly just to please those around me when I say... I got into Notre Dame (family wise)... if it happens that is... which I'm expecting 50/50... I got a full ride to an top 100 LAC in my state so I'm most likely going there anyway... just kinda want to see what the letter says...</p>
<p>I reject spirituality in most of its forms. And I don't claim to be an uber genious... I'm not... you should see my calc grade right now... but sometimes it just astounds me at the blinders people have to what goes on around them... I feel like I'm the only sane one at times...</p>
<p>I would come out on astrife's side here. I definitely don't resent meaning/truth/spirituality or any of the aspects of religion. They are definitely one aspect of my life. At the same time, even though I am a Catholic at a predominantly Catholic school...this doesn't mean I think the original poster's comments were in good taste. </p>
<p>The rhetorical utterances that invoke such things as "May God's love be with you," as I read them again seem genuine. But it is very easy to take this message the wrong way, and I find it of quesitonable taste to be posting it. Just because one is a Catholic at a Catholic institution doesn't mean that it is necessary to invoke God in everything. Besides I have to say that from what I've seen of college admissions it seems more likely to be reminiscent of a "crap shoot" then God's plan. I mean honestly when you have 10000+ apply for a little less than 2k slots, a lot of qualified candidates who love the school might end up not being able to attend.</p>

<p>You know I would say that from the tenor of some of these posts we have some people who will fit in nicely up here at ND and provide lots of indignant and wordy viewpoint articles for the observer. I mean, honestly the tone of some of these posts in this thread are comparable to some of the indignant writing that keeps so many at ND entertained during the lunch hour (or in the class immediately after the observer is delivered...)</p>
