Going Abroad

I am a freshman at Pepperdine University and I plan on transferring to USC. My senior year grades and SAT scores are very low and unfortunately I think I will have to do another year before I can get accepted and transfer. I would love to go abroad this year, however, would it look bad if the grades I show to USC are all just from freshman year and from overseas? Would it be bad to send them only a year of grades straight from pepperdine and then the rest be from the abroad program? THANK YOU!

why do you wish to leave pepperdine? I mean obviously USC is cooler and a bit more prestigious but? why… I may plan on going there in the fall but just waiting to here back from other schools

to be completely honest, i came here for the campus. I wasn’t aware that not only the administration, but majority of the STUDENT BODT was EXTREMELY religious. It’s been a bit of a culture shock for me because I am in the minority for being what any typical ucla or usc student is like. Also, I just feel like I’m in high school again, but with new (and different) people, but a wonderful view. So what’s better, the “college experience” or an “ocean view” suite with strict and down right confusing rules implemented all of the time? Heck, a degree from usc will get you the ocean view for the rest of your life…USC owns southern california, while pepperdine only owns it’s campus in malibu. I would be miserable if I didn’t go abroad for a full year next year. I found myself forcing friendships with people simply because we like to party like an other 19 year old…

wow I had it feeling it would be like that… smaller student body= more drama and more
highschool. I noticed while reading roommate files for looking for once a lot stressed Jesus while htat is okay i feel many may not be able to balance that lol.

That is such a bummer hopefully I get into USC because althought Pepperdine is a good school ( i looked into it more than view because I am from la) i would like options, and the REAL greek life and to be able to party and just not care!!

i want to get loose and have a college experience not rules? rules don’t allow you to grow. I was turned off by the fact we have a curfue shouldn’t one but their own boundaries? lol but wow

and yes their study abroad program is amazing thats a nother reason I wanted to go their

do you mind listing the pros and cons of going there

and to answer your question NOO they would even see that as a boost to your application especially if you plan on majoring something in liberal arts.
just keep your GPA strong and competitive you should be fine!

What I’ve done is that since I’m applying to NYU for a junior transfer, I’m doing the first semester of my sophomore year at NYU London as a visiting student.

So if you’re planning to transfer to USC, maybe you should look and see if USC allows visiting students in their study abroad program.

? sorry I private messaged you can you get back to me thanks!
