Going from LACs to MBA....how?

Hi, I was just accepted by a top LAC and I think I might want to do MBA in the long run. I have couple questions about MBA:

1) What major should I take as an undergraduate? I'm currently intested in engineering, economics, and political sceince. Should I double major as I heard well, read from cc) that majoring in engineering really helps for MBA?

2) Is Investment Banking experience a 'required' thing to get into top MBA programs?

3) Is being in LAC a disadvantage to me as I'm considering turnning down the offer from EA U Chicago?

Thanks in advance :-)

1)any major will do. just get a high gpa and high test scores
2)no, you can do anything from joining the military to starting a nonprofit organization
3)no

If this helps, I was a History major at a top LACish school (Dartmouth) and I go to a top MBA. I might be slightly atypical, but not that much. There are many econ, poli sci, etc majors at top MBAs.

Thanks a lot! :-)

"3) Is being in LAC a disadvantage to me as I'm considering turnning down the offer from EA U Chicago?"

Penumbra, you don't really have a choice. Swarthmore accepted you bindingly ED, you have to turn down U Chicago.

oops....willywonka ...:-)
yeah...i know....
I am trying to make the case to my parents in China....
They know U chicago though they've never heard of Swarthmore before....
...and they are wondering why do I want to go to Swat.....

I love Swat :-)

Ah, I see. My apologies, and good luck. ;)

Is it important where you get your undergraduates at?
Does it matter how prestigious the university is? I know the University of Houston isn't a prestigious school, but could someone that goes there get accepted into a prestigious B-School?

There are alumni of a large number of universities/LAC's at any of the prestigous business schools. Some schools have more representatives than others, but the University of Houston will put you in the running at good programs, provided that you earn top grades, a high GMAT score, and get a couple of years of very solid work experience before applying.
