Going on exchange TO McCombs

Hey Guys,

I currently go to uni in Australia and am planning to go on exchange to McCombs for semester 1 in 2011 (‘spring semester’ I believe). I’m majoring in finance/international business/economics and am wondering if there are any courses that are good for investment banking (e.g. valuations, M&A, etc.).

I know there is meant to be an “Investment Banking track” and I’ve looked through the course list on the faculty website but the aussie system is a bit different so I was hoping for some clarification from you guys.

Also, if anyone has any tips for me (courses to take/ avoid, accommodation, etc.) it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

FIN 367 is Investment Management, a required class here for finance majors (I am a finance minor). I know there is a class categorized as “Topics in Finance” which may have some of the more investment banking oriented topics.

Yeh thanks, i’m pretty sure that i’m covered equivalent courses for all the required subjects. Is there anywhere i can find more info on what’s been covered in ‘Advanced Topics in Finance’ in recent semesters?

I’m also interested in FIN 374C and FIN 377.3. Have you heard anything about these courses?
