Study Abroad Question?

ASSUMING I get into Mccombs next year through Internal Transfer, when should I study abroad?

I wanna Minor in Chinese so was interested in studying abroad in China / or Hong Kong. I know a semester exchange is no problem, but does anyone know if a year long exchange is possible? I don't believe I could fully take in the language and culture in just one semester. :/ So was just curious. I wanted to do Japan at first but they said that was just impossible because no credits would transfer. I still might try a way to get a semester or AT LEAST a summer in Japan. But that's fine if it doesn't work out. But the China thing is what I really need to know about.

But yeah, all I wanted to know!

:) If anyone has any advice on that type of thing.

You can easily do a Maymester in China or a summer in Hong Kong in a UT program that directly gives you UT credits.
There’s a Maymester in Japan, too.

There are semester long programs too, see above, but double check with a McCombs advisor to make sure that doing one of these won’t cause you to graduate later than you would have otherwise.

And there are UT recognized programs that are not UT programs but are recognized by UT. Some of the credits should transfer. You can investigate in advance. Even more so: these could cause you to graduate later than you would have otherwise.
