My statics in school make me look dumb compared to alot of people on this board. I have 1350 sat score and a 3.3 gpa. I'm not looking for a grandiose college, just a small liberal arts college. I am most likely majoring in pre-med. I hear Goucher is great for that subject because it right near john-hopkins. My goal is to get the best education in a place I can suceed and then apply to the ivys for my grad school. I'm looking for a genrall active social life on campus. So basically what are some good schools, I am looking in Pa, NH,CT,MA,ME,RI,FL and I think that's it, unless theres a college I fall in love with.

1350 out of 1600?

With a 1350/2400 I wouldn’t want you to be my doctor. No offense.

not out of 2400 that would be horrible, its out of a 1600.

GO out and buy a copy of Colleges That Change Lives by Loren Pope. Goucher is just one of the Forty Less Selective but outstanding academic LACs. Chances are you will fall in love with more then one. I did.

Colleges That Change Lives Website is: www.ctcl.org

thanks I will look into it. anyone else know some good small colleges?

New College of Florida is one of the best small colleges in Florida

Middlebury
Bowdoin
New College
Haverford
Wesleyan
Colby
Bucknell
Trinity
Lafayette
Franklin and Marshall
Dickinson
Gettysburg
Allegheny

Wow Collegehelp, all but like two of the schools you suggested are out of her range

Her 1350 falls into the middle 50% of each school. Check it out.

a 1350/1600 is a very solid score, and collegehelp is right to give you that list…also, i would consider Holy Cross, in MA… they have over 80% of kids get into MedSchool

thanks, I am going to check out new college of florida. Does anyone know anything about flagler

Flagler is a very small, very old school in a historic part of FL…St. Augustine. Very quaint area. Good little school! Check it out and see if you like it!

Allegheny wouldn’t be out of the OP’s range, would it?

I’ll further recommend Goucher…I applied as a safety but really liked it. I ended up not attending even though they gave me a nice scholarship because I didn’t feel that I felt socially, but it’s a nice little LAC. And you can register at Johns Hopkins for some classes. Plus, they subsidize their (mandatory) study abroad, which is nice.

Maybe also check out Clark U in Massachusetts?

And I’ll second Flagler.

You should get into Flagler and it’s a good deal money wise.

1350 is a pretty solid score. It can definitely get her into those schools collegehelp suggested.

You could also look at Rice (a small uni, good stuff) and Occidental (CA though).

If you are interested in Flagler, here is a link that will give you stats as well as direct you to their website.

[Flagler College - Saint Augustine, Florida - Undergraduate Information](http://www.collegeview.com/school/school_hub.jsp?scid=1100662&location=1500&pAreaId=null)

Another school in Florida that might interest you is Stetson. I completely forgot about it until just now.

Check out Ursinus in Collegeville, PA. They have a strong record for sending kids to med school. Also, you would probably get a nice merit scholarship to Drew Univ in Madison, NJ; very nice school that tends to be under the radar. You can do much, much better than Flagler, but the price is right.
All the schools “collegehelp” listed are really great. Ursinus and Drew would fall into the safety category for you…Flagler is a safety for kids a couple tiers below your numbers.

I saw some pics of Flagler - it’s gorgeous. Possibly the prettiest-looking campus (judging from the pictures) that I’ve ever seen.
