Hi everyone, I have just been accepted by Emory (oxford and emory college) and CMU (Tepper School of Business). I really love both universities very much and I know that both have rigorous business programs. But I have to choose one and I wonder if anyone knows which program is better in terms of employment, job opportunities, and academics. Thank You!

It depends on what do you want to do.
Wnat are you looking to get into?

Hi aluminum_boat, thanks for your reply! I want to go into finance. Then after undergrad I want to get some work experience in new york before going to grad school. Do you know which school has better connections with large firms and opportunities?

First, you need to figure out what you want. Not that I expect you to know right now, but you need to learn before you choose.

Tepper doesn’t place well into the biggest places on Wall Street. But Emory isn’t spectacular either (but, definitely much better for front office positions).
CMU places well into quant and S&T roles though… Although I doubt it’s traditional Tepper students who do that. And also probably lots of IT consultant jobs. I doubt Emory places at all into quant roles.
They both place very regularly into F500 roles.

I think you should attend Emory. It does better than Tepper in everything except quantitative finance. Which I don’t think you want to do.

@aluminum_boat and @lydiajin: Primarily because if you wanted to do that, you would go to Wharton OR simply just not major in business. Double majoring in econ. and something quantitaive major get more interesting opps. for top schools if one is into the quantitative stuff. .

Your choice! many factors are there…

Thanks for all the replies! I know that Goizueta is a very prestigious business school, but I learned from the website that first year students need to apply for entering Goizueta in the second year. If that is the case, then is it hard to get into goizueta? How are the admission rates?
