Golden Key International Honour Society

I got an invitation to join this club. Is this another useless academic recognition similar to Who's Who Among American High School Students?

Also, what are some "legitimate" academic honor societies that are valued by employers or grad schools?

According to Wikipedia, it's a legitimate organization, but with a myriad of issues. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Key_International_Honour_Society

for a second, I thought you answered your own question. haha

I thought tastybeef has answered his own question, until I read post #3. haha

I think Golden Key is full of bollocks. I know someone who's in it, but other than pay the rather expensive fee, you do virtually nothing.

I have a coworker who was promoter and in the email that went out to all of our offices, it mentioned that she is a member of this. I guess it looks good...??

Sorry *promoteD

I think it's one of those societies where anybody who aspires to be thought of as above average should join because it seems like people in all sorts of leadership positions list it on their resumes.

I'm a member. They send it out to the top 15% of the class. Does look okay on the resume simply because you can write "top 15% of the class" Lol
