When can a cadet have golf clubs? Where does that cadet keep them? Where does / when can that cadet use them?

Bike… what kind do you suggest? Mountain ? Road? Touring? When can a cadet have a bike? KEEP IT WHERE ? Where does / when can that cadet use the bike? Practical?

You can have clubs and a bike after BCT. Golf clubs you can store in your room, and there are bike racks outside the dorms. We have two golf courses on base (which I haven't visited, but are supposed to be very nice), and you'll have miles of roads and trails for bike riding. I'm not really sure what kind of bike you'd want to get. If you want to go with a mountain bike, you can definitely do that, but if you want to stick to the roads, then you've got plenty of options for that too.

I will attest that the golf courses are as good as they say they are. My first free weekend after basic I hitched a ride down to the courses, it was ALOT of fun. The courses here on base are rated #1 in the DOD, and the prices are super cheap for cadets. Like 7 bucks at peak rate and 3 for twlight. :) I have alot of friends who bike around here and like Petko said, depending on what you want to do, mountain, road, its all availble here and the during the summers you can allways head up into backcountry(the Rocky Mts. being right here) :)

You will never know the time in BCT. You will not have any watches or clocks. You will be lucky to spot a clock once a day. We will run your life, do not worry. ;)

In BCT you will always be late...until you arrive someplace early and have to wait around.

You can have athletic equipment stored in your room, as long as you have a good place to put it. My old roommate put his clubs on the top shelf of his desk. Bikes are stored under the dorms.

USNA69, you know the AF priorities--find a good spot for a course, then build an airfield somewhere near that. ;)

I never thought about this going in, but never knowing the time really messes with your mind. My sense of time is permanently destroyed (which is probably part of the reason why time moves both so quickly and so slowly here). But like hornet said, they will run your life, so no worries, just be ready for it. :)

A lot of us applying to the academy's are probably so used to knowing the time, all the time, because of all of the activities we do and the schedule's and planning we make for ourselves. It will be interesting to not know the time... nor worry about it.

I knew when it was getting close to lunch. The shadows from the trees on the t-zo were at a certain point before NMF. Other than that, I really had no idea what time it was.

You'll acquire a general idea of what time it is by the end of Basic. But yeah, not having a clock kind of messes with you. If you knew what time it was all the time though during Basic, the days would seem a lot longer, so at least you don't have to worry about that.

If you really do want to know what time it is, you might get "lucky" and have an outdoors person inf your Basic Flight that will be able to tell what time it is just using their fist (if you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry about it).
