USAFA... and BIKES

ok…

many cadets @ the USAFA have bicycles…

what are some good reasons to have a bike at the AF Academy?

what’s the best procedure to procure one after BCT ??

While I don't know the process to registering (besides that it's pretty easy), people use them for the triathlon club, biking clubs, and most importantly, for fun! ;) Great scenery here.

Whats the policy on unicycles?

A unicycle? Um...no idea...I suppose you can have one, though I have a hard time picturing a cadet actually using one...:P

OK, between "juggling" the trials of BCT, "juggling" your spare time getting your room ready for inspections, "juggling' to keep learning new things like "How's the cow" in order to keep the firsties happy and out of your face, and "juggling" a full and challenging academics load, you want to be known as the cadet riding around the grounds on a unicycle while actually juggling hackie sacks? Talk about high-lighting yourself. My advice: stick to two wheels, and stay "in the background". Remember, anything unusual (and I think a 4-dig riding around the grounds on a unicycle fits this description), will only draw unwanted attention.

At least save it for when your a 3-year and it's your turn to run BCT, and do some tricks around the confused and scared new 4-digs. You'll be NOTORIOUS!

I agree with Bullet! lol. The unicycle cadre, the terrifying and horrible unicycle cadre! The horror! :)

lol!!!!!!!!! :) :)

Insane Clown Posse Unicycle Cadre ultimate nightmare. Riding the halls with welcome to the jungle blarring.....oh the humanity....

unicycle... haha. :D

so best to have parents buy one on parent's weekend?

that's probably best zzz.

I just was reminded of you too. I was walking down my hall and two alcoves down is a small mural for the 555th. :)

hornetguy,

funny... i just talked to Brig. Gen. Ritchie !
ASAP we're going to "hang-out"...

it's really interesting and cool to have him as a friend/mentor.

the ONLY AF ace from Vietnam and USAFA grad...

it's way cool. and I am way lucky.

Wow, I bet the cadre would love to hear that on I-day! ;)

Just kidding!

P.S. That sound's pretty cool. I'm jealous.

AZcadet,

yeah! this basic cadet is not going to tell.
that's for damn sure.

I think you already did!

bulletandpima,

and like my real name is "zzztriplenickel" !

;)

I hava feeling they have ways of finding you out... ;)

I can assure you they do. Potter has a picture she wanted to keep low key. Problem is when an upper googled her name up came the picture. Came to tell her it was cool; usually everyones reaction, but she likes to be a stealth cadet. So zzztriplenickle nothing at USAFA stays a secret forever.

Haha, the academy is one of the country's largest rumor mills. Not much stays secret around here for very long...unless it actually is classified.

what if one has a very generic name like "john smith" or "michael brown" or something?
not trying to rile up the mob, just curious :D

Edit: and they're from a big city like LA or NY?

Because I suppose it'd be easy enough to find someone if they came from a small-ish more rural area.

Guilty conscience??? ;)
