Hi everyone! I’m looking for a 4-year undergraduate for my BSN in preferably either New Hampshire, Maine, and maybe Massachusetts. I’d rather not go to a very crowded university or next to a large city. Preferably one with a clean, pretty campus with on-campus housing. (Also a bonus is good food, and a gymnastics or cheer team!)
What state are you from? What’s the budget?
I think all of their flagships have good nursing schools, for a start. UNH is about 11k students on a big campus, fairly outdoorsy, near the coast. I believe UMaune Orono is similar, though I’ve only been on campus once.
I think UNE has a nursing school.
Budget is key, salem state, northeastern, bu are great, northeastern has a 4+1 program I believe.
@raulhumber2 NEU does coops. I think it’s between junior and senior year.
@usualhopeful They do but they include it in a 4 year program regardless. Kinda cool for future nurses, very strict curriculum though.
Where are you from? The most cost-effective place to get a BSN is likely your own state’s public universities (flagship or regional).
In MA there’s Salem State University, UMass-Lowell, Fitchburg State University, Endicott College, Worcester State, UMass-Amherst (the flagship), and Westfield State. Worcester is a medium-sized city about an hour from Boston, s whether that’s too big or too close is up to you. UMass-Amherst is kind of big.
In New Hamshpire there’s St. Anselm College, University of New Hampshire, Colby-Sawyer College, Keene State College, and Plymouth State University.
In Maine, there’s the University of Maine, St. Joseph’s College of Maine, and Husson University.
The University of Vermont also has nursing.
University of New England in Portland/Biddeford has an excellent reputation in their BSN program.
Have you narrowed it down at all? Where did you end up applying?
