Good ACT score but so so Subject tests scores: not sure what to do.

Not sure what to do. I am a senior now looking to ED at a selective school ( not top 10 )that states that subject tests are optional , will “consider” if submitted.

ACT composite score 34 ( 36 E,35 R,33 S,32 M) .
Subject test, Bio 710, Chem 690, Math 2 690.

UW GPA 3.75 at a competitive private school which does not offer many AP’s. My transcript shows strength in Math and Science (92 grade) vs (89 in English) . That was the reason why I took subject tests in Math and Sciences. Based on my school profile, the subject test score that is below my school’s mean score is the Math2 score.

Planning to study economics and will not require FA. Other parts of my application is pretty solid, good ECs and good LOR.

Should I just not send any of the subject scores?

I guess this is also a general questions for schools that “recommends” subject tests.

I do have safety schools that do not require subject tests scores but am just frustrated because SAT testing formats are just not for me.

Please chime in…

bump…(In similar situation)

In the same situation too.

Hmmm…I’ve read and heard that when they say SAT Subject tests are “recommended”, they REALLY mean that they expect them and want you to send them, they just don’t want to/cannot require it. I’ve also read that anything 700+ is good, so you are close (now, that’s relative to what school you are applying to). I would tend to say yes, send…for any that “recommend”, but if you feel like it won’t help, not to any that say “optional, will consider.” Hope that helps. Also maybe look at Common Data set for SAT scores if you are still on the fence, maybe use those as a guide as to where your subject tests fall. Good luck.

Thank you @TS0104.

Since the new SAT, for very top colleges, some want better than “anything 700+.” OP, what do you mean by “selective?” That word covers a lot of colleges outside the top ten. What admit percent?

@lookingforward , by selective, I mean colleges that have between 10-20 percent acceptance rate.
