What is a good architecture college that has a decent music program and doesn't cost more than 30K a year (for rm/tuition/board/etc.)?

By “college” do you mean a liberal arts college or a school of architecture?
When you set that $30K limit, are you talking sticker price without aid, or your possible out-of-pocket cost?

Rice University in Houston has a very good school of architecture, a music school, and a very respected liberal arts college. Here’s some cost information about Rice and other private “value colleges” assembled by Kiplinger’s magazine:

Kiplinger’s has a similar list for public universities, which may be your only option if you don’t expect to qualify for aid any can’t spend more than $30K. VirginiaTech has one of the top architecture schools, but I don’t know about music there.

I would like a college with a 5 year B.arch degree program.

By 30K that’s without aid.
and it doesn’t matter if it’s private or public.

If you can get into Cooper Union (NYC), it is tuition-free for all students. I don’t know about their music programs.
