Can anyone give me some recommendations for good reads. I'm going to Stern next year, it's summer, and I get bored at my job, so need something to be occupied.

Liar's Poker
Monkey Business
Den of Thieves (I'm currently reading this :) )
Reminescenes of a stock operator

search it. there's a lot of threads concerning good reads.

i'm currently reading hedge hogs, it's a fairly good book. I'm about 1/2 way though and i'd recommend it

do you think that reading these kinds of books help you if youre looking to get into i-banking? How would they help? Thanks

Truthfully it will discourage you more than anything. However, it is a good indicator of how much you really want to take a position in ibanking.

Grandpabuzz, why do you say that reading these will discourage a person?

Well especially in Monkey Business the whole message of the book illustrates that ibanking is not just about money and prestige. Both authors show the rigors of working 90-100 hours a week, having no social life whatsoever, and having to deal with long travel and demanding projects. It's just a different perspective of how ibanking really is instead of all the fantasies of making millions and having a wonderful life.

theres 2 sides of every story

The Undercover Economist by Tim Harford is amazing for learning business type thinking. Also check out Integrity by Henry Cloud, and The Apple Way by Jeffrey L. Cruikshank.

Just follow grandpabuzz's list, he is right on the money. seriously.
