Does anyone know any useful books, websites, etc. for information on transferring to another school?

Hey! There are no good books out there for transfer because transfer to the top 30 schools and top LACs is a dismal 5-7%. The college coaching services don't like to deal with them because the admission chances are slim at best. Do not go by the numbers you see in books like Harvard Scmarvard or the College Board. The schools that show a 20-30% shot at admission most likely have quaranteed transfer options. Cornell comes to mind. These are mostly legacy apps. who were not strong condidates for admission as first-year, so they are told to get a minimum GPA at a four-year school and they will be admitted as a transfer. The publics, UCs, UVA, eg., hold spaces open for articulation-agreement candidates from in-state CCs. What schools are you looking at? Maybe I can help. Check threads here. Visit the schools. Talk to staff, students, other transfers. Don't be totally discouraged. Just don't be deceived. This won't be easy. Good luck!

BUmp to top of thread. This subject really interests me right now.

Lost In Space,

i am aware of their artificially high transfer numbers though.
and i also ran into the same problems as you when i originally tried getting books on transferring. there doesnt seem to be much available at all

there's one i came across last year.

it's called 'how to transfer to the college of your choice' by freedman.

it honestly didn't help though. i learned A LOT more from cc.

thanks for the title forgiven.
haha, i figured cc would be more helpful!
