does anyone know the transfer admission rates to Georgetown, Duke, Harvard, and Cornell (CAS)? Im not even a freshman yet, ill be one at BC next year, but I am thinking a little ahead of myself. Im also looking at Notre Dame, but i found the transfer rate to be slightly over 30%, and MIT, which i know is usually less than 1%. Thanks.

I've heard that Georgetown's transfer rate is around 30%. Harvard's also very low like MIT's. Not sure about the other two.

A lot of the statistics are on collegeboard.com, but for last year. MIT is at ~5%, Duke is ~6%, Harvard is ~8%, Georgetown is ~28%, Notre Dame is ~33%, and Cornell is ~35%.

Just do your best and try not to stress yourself out. If you really work hard and get involved at BC you'll have a better transfer resume, anyhow.

wow transfer percentages are on college board...that is very helpful

Well, yes, not the percentages themselves, but the numbers. And all you've left to do is divide. Search under colleges and click on "Admission".

lol divide mannnnnnnnnn. thanks

Isn't Cornell's number is a bit distorted since they offer the guranteed transfer option (GTOs) to freshmen applicants?

big time...thats what sucks about cornell most spots are filled automatically

That's right on about Cornell. That's why the transfer admits are the highest at Cornell. Did any of you see the extension to June 1 for FALL 2006 transfer. There was a banner reading "It's not too late to apply to Cornell for fall 2006 transfer!" and the transfer student request page also posted the June 1 extension. Now it reads, "The PUBLISHED deadline for fall 2006 transfer was March 15. It is now too late to apply for fall 2006." They keep giving different answers. More than one person saw this but they are maintaining the position of plausable denial. Two different people have acknowledged an UNPUBLISHED deadline extension to April 15. They NEVER say that there were no web pages with the June 1 extension. It is not fair that they can retract a deadline extension but it is far worse that they are conspiring to deceive anyone who saw the extension and applied by June 1! As long as they get away with this kind of thing the worse it will be for all of us who work hard on our applications and trust that admission offices have a modicum of integrity. I have learned that these admissions offices have agendas and are NOT objective when they are reviewing our applications. Good luck with the others. Harvard uses a "Z list " to admit less -qualified legacy applicants. They have to wait a year and unlike Cornell they may not enroll at another college. Georgetown has a "Z list" and does have the "letter of transfer" but not to the extent that Cornell implements this back-door admission. ND too! So Harvard's numbers are real and Georgetown's slightly inflated. Hope this helps! I forgot that you are at BC. BC to Georgetown and ND might not be so easy. Why do you want to transfer from BC? Do you want to trade up or was it not your first choice?

doesn't MIT take in only like 8 people a year or something like that? -_-

they took 11 last year :)
