I really really really want to go to this school, but my stats are just nit cmc worthy. My leadership is excellent but it's in performing arts and CSF. I don't think that I can get in but im wondering what are some other schools that's are similar to cmc, yet acceptance rates are much better. I know it's hard to compare schools to cmc because it's so unique. Will going to a particular school help my chances to transfer there.

If you really want to go to CMC, I would advise you to apply ED. If your leadership is excellent and you keep working on your stats, anything is possible. Who knows - they might surprise you.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is CSF?

Keep working on your grades and test scores. They have to be strong for CMC, but not perfect. CMC takes into account many other factors, but you would definitely be more competitive in the ED pool.

Don’t worry too much about your ECs. My D was big into the performing arts as well. She actually wrote her leadership essay on a music topic. Just show leadership in whatever you do, and you should be ok.

What is it that you like about CMC? What are you thinking about for a major?

CSF typically stands for California Scholarship Federation which is an extremely active club on many high school campuses-membership I believe is by semester and is based on a modified version of one’s GPA.

Thanks 2D2TG-

It sounds like honor society or key club in our neck of the woods, which obviously is not CA!

thanks guys so much. Ive heard that you can write your way into this school. Hopefully I blow them away with my essays. I will be so disappointed if i get rejected.

I want to study biology.

I visited CMC last week and fell in love with everything. The students are great and they are very interactive. They told me anything I wanted to hear and more. They explained how CMC was different from other schools and talked about the opportunities they were all given. The professors sound amazing, and their classes sound fun. I went to the Information Session and while the woman was describing the average CMC student, I felt like she was talking about me. I cant find one thing I don’t like about CMC, other than the fact that its extremely difficult to get into.

It’s great that your visit to CMC went so well. I will be rooting for you, and I know in the months ahead we will be here to help you in whatever way we can. Good luck!
