Good college experience?

<p>To people who know Columbia well ~ </p>

<p>This may sound like a bizarre question, but does Columbia provide a good, classic college education and experience? Does being in NYC mean that there isn't a common hangout? Does the campus seem too big?</p>

<p>I've visited Columbia once (when I was 14; I'm 16 now). I found that Columbia has elements of the hustle-and-bustle of the Big Apple, but still has qualities of a classical college experience (basketball games, core curriculum)...</p>

<p>I love to hear more opinions on this school.</p>
