any good colleges for Buisness w/ maybe some theatre(SRY im not into getting a huge carreer in Theatre but since i was little i LOVED doing theatre I Mean i work my ass off every summer at FRENChwoods Festival OF the Performing ARTS!!! Its all for Talented KIDS! I live there practically and i was in a play there a week ago for the most talented kids on campus! so yah i wanna do something w/ Theatre at college)

nORTHWESTERNNNN

Dog, Northwestern doesn't have an undergraduate Business program.

fwfgirl, there are several schools that are excellent in Business and Theater. USC, NYU, Indiana and CMU (as well as Michigan if you are interested in MT) all come to mind.

But, given the very structured curriculum and requirements of those particular majors, it is practically impossible to double major in those two specific fields. It would make more sense to double major in Economics and Theater, in which case, Northwestern, Yale, and all the schools I mentioned above all qualify.

USC!!!! #1 Theatre program and #9 Business!! An awesome school for that combo

Emerson! Very strong arts program, and strong in business as well.

USC and NYU are the two that pop out most

NYU, Towson University, University of Maryland are all I can't think of at the moment.

omg ty!! hmm...lots of good choices..

Also, consider Syracuse University with both business and drama programs.

Maybe Fordham

Maybe the U of Miami.

Regarding NYU, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to double major from stern and tisch at the same time. that would be suicide.

to the OP - I am doing the same thing! I was originaly interested in a BFA (Carnegie Mellon, Cincinatti, NYU, etc) but I then decided I want to double major in business and theater, so now I'm looking for a BA in theater. The thing is, even if a school doesn't have an undergrad business program, it will still have public relations or something generic like that.

My number one school right now is MICHIGAN. Great business and theater.

To be more specific, you want to avoid a BFA program if you want to double major because a BFA is a conservatory training and will be basicaly 9-5 M-Th, and you will not have time for a second major.

Schools that I'm interested in (to give you some ideas):

Michigan
Fordham
Macalester
Bard
Middlebury
Stanford
Brown
Cornell
Illinois
Wisconsin
UNC
UVA
Loyola Chicago
DePaul
George Washington
Northwestern
Chicago

Good luck! These are all BA programs in theater and there is some potential business-related thing to double major in.

Check out Miami University in Oxford, OH

They have an outstanding business school [I am an alum and it has served me VERY well in the real world], they also have a theatre program, vocal music program, and an interdisciplinary studies program [you basicly make your own major].

D is considering the same options as some of you and we are visiting this coming weekend as it is homecoming.

So, this is a really old post…wondering what you ended up doing. My daughter has been going to FWF for years and we are starting to think of colleges. She really wants MT, but we want her to get a degree that could provide income if things don’t work out…Where did you end up? Are you still doing theater??
