good ECs but grades worth crying over =(…

Junior, in a competitive northern California high school.
Cumulative GPA at the end of junior year (UC weighted) 4.08, im 100% sure , or maybe 90% =D
top 10% of class, just barely
4 APs, and 5 Community college classes.
Here comes the bad part:
SAT I: 1800, retaking it this month hoping for a 2000, we both know thats not gona happened :D
SAT II : Math 670, Chinese 800, taking physics later this year.
ECs:
Co founded a web design/web communication company; I am currently the VP of operations. The company is a legal LLC. Our clients include 6 tech start ups in the Silicon Valley(each with over 3 million in venture capital), and many many small local businesses.

Vice president of mechanical design, head of programming, and PR officer at our school’s robotics club. Each year we build an AUV (short for Autonomous Underwater vehicle) to compete in the AUVSI’s international AUV competition (sponsored by the US naval warfare center). In 2007 we placed 13th out of 30 universities; Beating MIT, and DUKE University=D. Our AUV successfully passed the JAUS Challenge in 2007. (An universal autonomous vehicle communication interface created and ran by the US military).

Volunteer hours: 200+
JV track for 2 years, Varsity this year and senior year.
My senior year I intend to join our school’s competition civics team, our school placed 2nd in the nation last year.

Please chance me at these universities ( I am really really really desperate =(…….. )
UCSD(in state)
UCD
UCI
=========== I know the following will probably take a miracle
UCLA
UCB
Cornell
DUKE

Thanks everyone in advance!

A 4.08 is a GPA worth crying over? Yeah right...

Well, anyways, when you get your SAT I up, you have a good chance at all of them.

drama king, your sat's are more worth crying over.

right on. Get that SAT up and you have a good chance @ all

Does your robotics team take up most of your time? If you get your SAT up, and perhaps retake the math score, I'd say:

Berkeley: high match (~60%)
UCLA: match
UCSD: safe match
UCD/UCI: safety

If you're applying for engineering, Berkeley would be a reach, unless you can demonstrate enough potential in your essays.

lol, my bad, i was thinking of my sat score as a part of my grade. and i know my sat score sux.
yeah the robotics team does take up my whole summer, LOL
but is it true, i was told that for UCB, and UCLA, you need a 4.2 gpa?
thanks again

To apply for UC's/CSU's you NEED higher than a 2.8. The average of freshmen applicants for UCB and UCLA is 4.2. Go do some research on the statistics.

For UCs, you are ineligible if you have below a 3.0.

What about during the year? Do you have other ECs that keep you busy?

You don't need it, but it's around the average. (I think UCLA's is a 4.12 or so and Berkeley's a 4.25.)

our robotics team still work during the school year, just twice a week, compared to everyday in the summer before competition.
me and 2 of my friends also run a graphic/web design company on the side, so that keeps me glued to the computer all the time. ( i have done free graphic design work for 5 different clubs at our school)
i use to have soccer during the winter season, but i got kicked out for skipping too much practice, i had that one coming :D other than that its just track during the spring and volunteer work at the senior center.

im spending a lot of time on the sat rit now, if i get my SAT 1 up to >2000, and SAT 2 to a 750, do i have a chance at the ivy leagues?

thanks so much

Oh, my bad, I could have sworn something had to do with a 2.8.
