"Good" ECs for Transfer Students?

I'm a freshman who's considering transferring, and ECs are certainly the weakest part of my application. I was wondering what would be considered "good" ECs to be competitive applicant for a top 25 school?

tutoring + work... or maybe something related to the field you are going to pursue.

I work two part-time jobs every weekend, 24 hours at a hospital and 20- hours in a theme park. I also have a tutoring thing going on in my school. When I do have a 'vacation' time, I volunteer for red cross and help third graders in our community with their academics. I don't have anything stellar, like saving the dolphins or whatever, simply because I need the money to fund my education.

anyone else?

I was on the swim team and principal flute in the college orchestra.

Do some clubs that pertain to the school's major your transferring into. For me, I want to transfer to Marshall (Business at USC) so I'm in my business scholar's club and a business fraternity club.

I'm a pol sci/international relations major so I joined the international relations club, which makes sense. also joined an environmentalist club and community service club, but those aren't really related to my major, just general interests. hope that's good enough. also work as a receptionist part time on campus.

today, i was invited to do research as a freshman with chemistry professor. i'm a chemistry major. would that, coupled with club ultimate and FOCUS fellowship group be sufficient, or should i look for 1 or two more?

rollz4, yeah that sounds perfect! remember, as cliche as it sounds, you want quality over quantity. I'm doing three SOLID clubs that I can devote plenty of time to and get deeply involved with. Doing research with a chem prof as a frosh is awesome and with two other solid clubs, you should be set. good luck!
