Good Engineering schools in california

Hello, I am an international student. I have done IB (international baccalaureate) and have scored 31/45. My sat 1st attempt was 1930 and second was 1860. Thus my super score is 1990.
My sister lives in california so my parents want me to finish my college from california too. i know california has some excellent engineering scools like cal tech, stanford, USC and some UCs. But they are all so expensive for international students and furthermore I do not have that profile to get into these colleges. I wanted to know some good and also cheap engineering schools in califronia other than those mentioned above. These schools could include the state universities also. Thanks alot :D

U of San Diego, although it’s a 5-year undergraduate engineering program.
U of Southern California

Look a little further north to U of Portland and Oregon State U for engineering.

USC and USD are expensive.

The lower cost at list price schools tend to be the California State Universities (not the Universities of California), many of which are also less selective. However, many are more commuter oriented schools.

The best known, and most residential, of them is San Luis Obispo, but it is also the most selective one. Others with a selection of engineering majors include Pomona, Chico, Fresno, Fullerton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose. East Bay and Humboldt each have one specific type of engineering.

You can use http://main.abet.org/aps/AccreditedProgramSearch.aspx/AccreditationSearch.aspx</a> to see what schools have what kinds of engineering.

The Cal States are funded by state taxpayers, so to attend you have to pay full fees as an OOS resident. Costs will be a minimum of $30K.
Your best bet would be the California privates because they may give you some scholarships to bring some of the costs down.

You might want to consider these privates: Santa Clara, University of the Pacific (UOP) & Occidental which may give more aid for international students.
Cal States are good choices, but no FA for internationals so full pay would be $30K like aunt bea mentioned.
There are no cheap universities in California for international students. We like them fully pay…
